1. What do you do at JMT?

I am an Asset Management Coordinator assisting with the development and coordination of asset management programs for transportation clients.

2. What brought you to JMT?

I joined JMT Technology Group as a Project Assistant in pursuit of a fresh start in a new industry. The position allowed me to learn the ins and outs of the industry while collaborating with leadership from each team. My experience in that position quickly showed me that there is room for growth no matter which path I chose within the department or JMT as a whole. Within a year, I was given the opportunity to join the asset management team and took on the challenge of learning asset management and consulting for transportation clients, with the help of a very supportive manager.

3. What do you like most about JMT?

The people here not only inspire and motivate one another but also create a sense of belonging and fulfillment. There is so much opportunity for growth and hard work and exceptional performance is recognized and rewarded.

4. What type of projects do you like to work on most?

I enjoy working on projects with new clients as they bring on a new challenge. Although asset management as a whole is made up of the same set of principles, each client’s organization is different, so working with them to identify their needs and seeing the impact of our work on their teams is very rewarding.

5. What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into this industry / career?

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. As someone who started out in this industry with no experience, I know that with hard work and willingness to learn you can achieve so much. Be open to new experiences and always be thinking about how the skills that you possess can be transferred to your future career.

6. What is something new and exciting that you're working on?

I am currently coordinating a pilot project for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in an effort to establish an Asset Management System for the entire agency. The project involves collaboration with multiple different firms and client contacts, along with significant help from our GIS team as we pilot the use of ArcGIS Field Maps to collect data and a camera to create 3D floor plans.
