Computer Support Specialist - Hunt Valley, Maryland

JMT's Technology Group is seeking a Computer Support Specialist. The successful candidate will report to our Corporate Hunt Valley, Maryland office and will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within Information Systems environment. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof of vaccination will need to be submitted as part of the interview/hiring process. 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide end user support and troubleshooting
  • Maintain and administer Microsoft Desktop environment, including setup, configuration, daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • Understand and support Microsoft local and cloud-based software like OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Perform software installation including local desktop installation, server installation, LAN/WAN deployments
  • Manage software procurement, maintenance, and audit process
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for Microsoft desktop, software, and cloud solutions
  • Coordinate the testing and implementation of all changes, repairs, and upgrades

 

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
  • 2+ years of direct Microsoft solution experience

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with software asset management, help desk ticketing, software deployment
  • Experience with Microsoft stack of software solutions including operation system, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Experience with Autodesk and Bentley Solutions
  • Experience with Apple Devices
  • PowerShell experience a plus

 

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Technology Project Manager - Columbus, Ohio

Come join the JMT Technology Group team where you can be a part of making a difference in the transportation, utilities and related public service markets. You will be responsible for consulting and delivering successful projects to our customers for the design, development, and implementation of custom web-based applications, and for custom and configured GIS-based solutions. We’re looking for someone who can form and maintain positive customer relationships while helping drive new business to the company. As a condition of employment, hire will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Be actively engaged and immersed in the proposed solutions and subject matter of assigned projects 
  • Provide frequent and direct communication with clients 
  • Develop technical scopes of work and approaches for projects with project teams that require the design, development, integration and implementation of custom software solutions, commercial-off-the-shelf applications, or GIS services and solutions in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) 
  • Monitor and manage project performance, scope, budget, quality, risks and schedule for all assigned projects including Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contract compliance ensuring high levels of customer service 
  • Recognize and help mine new business opportunities 
  • Understand and document business requirements when meeting with customers 
  • Work with Business and Systems Analysts to translate business requirements into functional requirements and specification 
  • Identify effective solutions as part of a project team 
  • Prepare and participate in project-related presentations 
  • Prepare and update project management plans 
  • Prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) 
  • Prepare estimates of hours and cost to perform the required services with the assistance of the project team 
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules  
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and meeting minutes 
  • Prepare progress reports monthly, or as contracts require 
  • Review and validate invoices 
  • Validate and maintain project documentation 
  • Update resource forecast for assigned projects 
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders 
  • Manage subconsultants 
  • Attend and present at conferences and seminars 
  • Travel within Ohio, and potentially neighboring states, to meet with clients 

 

 Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of information technology or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity for application development and/or GIS-related projects. 
  • Experience managing web application development projects 
  • Experience preparing and providing presentations in public and project settings 
  • Experience writing technical proposals and project documentation   
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with team members, customers and consulting partners from a broad spectrum of disciplines 
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project 

Preferred Experience 

  • PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) credential 
  • Experience managing GIS implementation projects 
  • Experience implementing solutions for state and local government  
  • Experience implementing software solutions in the transportation, airport, water/wastewater, environment and natural resource, facility, or public safety markets 
  • Experience implementing Esri technology in a consulting capacity
