The Downingtown Station project virtual meeting was created as a follow-up to a well-attended in-person meeting, extending the reach of stakeholder engagement to a larger audience. It replicates a traditional meeting room in a 3D space where attendees can virtually walk between various stations. The virtual meeting space is available 24/7, enabling community members to learn about the Downingtown Station project in their own time and at their own pace via their computer or mobile device.
Each station contains a set of boards or videos that can be viewed or downloaded, along with a narrative for the station, which the attendees can hear or read. In the center of the virtual space, a 3D model imported from AutoDesk Revit data is displayed giving users a larger contextual view of how the proposed Amtrak station buildings and site will fit within the surrounding community. Several aesthetic options for the buildings and landscaping are featured, along with information on the project timeline and impacts. The virtual meeting collects visitor contact information and gives the opportunity to leave comments on the project and their preferred aesthetic treatments.
VirtualSpaces® experiences run on a scalable Cloud-Based hosting platform, making hosting a meeting a turn-key experience for clients to distribute the meeting via web URL. Images, media, and interface elements are designed to create a seamless user experience for the visitors.
