SmartCampus - Harrisburg Area Community College

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) was interested in implementing JMT Technology Group's SmartCampus® solution as a public-facing interactive map. The new interactive map, was integrated with HACC's GIS data and designed to provide students, faculty, and visitors with a dynamic and user-friendly way to explore all six of the HACC campuses. Available on both desktop and mobile devices, the map offers detailed information on buildings, bus stops, parking lots, roads, walkways, recreation, emergency resources such as call boxes and defibrillators, and other campus amenities.

The interactive map offers various features aimed at improving the campus experience for everyone. Users can explore the campuses in detail, access building-specific information, and locate important facilities such as libraries and student services. It’s also an essential tool for visitors attending events, such as open houses, graduations, or conferences.

“Our goal is to make the HACC campuses more welcoming for everyone, whether they’re prospective students visiting for the first time or current students looking to navigate the campus more efficiently,” said Kathy Brickner, Interim Vice President of Finance at HACC. “This new tool not only helps people find their way but also encourages exploration and engagement with the campus community.”

The launch of the interactive map is part of HACC’s broader strategic plan to enhance digital tools and improve the overall campus experience for the community.
