1. What do you do at JMT?
I am a Solution Director for GIS Asset Management offerings and technology. My charge is to advance JMT's offerings and visibility into these spaces across all markets and grow the team.
2. What brought you to JMT?
I was with Gannett Fleming/GeoDecisions for 24 years and was drawn to JMT by its culture, reputation, and the people...which is JMT's greatest asset!
3. What do you like most about JMT?
The team and family culture - 100%. You are appreciated here and what you can do/bring to the table. Everyone has a voice and is pushing toward the same goals. Doing great work and providing top-notch customer service is at the forefront of what we do, and I love that.
4. What type of projects do you like to work on most?
I love solving problems. Coming from a programming background, I love helping people define problems, investigate ways to remedy them, and provide solutions to grow more effectively and efficiently. Data is at the heart of everything, no matter what type of project JMT does, and should be harnessed to provide the best value to clients in solving said problems.
5. What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into this industry / career?
I am a youth sports coach, and I tell every athlete that the key to growing and advancing is "Be coachable." Be a sponge. Learn from your peers and leaders at every opportunity. Don't be afraid to stumble and push yourself to do something new. I had an unforeseen medical event last year that really helped me gain perspective on how relationships are the key to everything and that we can only control what we can control. By focusing on what is within your control, you can lay out a path for yourself to grow and be valued. My favorite part of this industry is the feeling you get from helping others and seeing positive change - that is the true reward.
6. What is something new and exciting that you're working on?
I am currently working with the TG leaders and GIS / Asset Management teams to develop our strategic plan for future solutions and growth. Technology changes rapidly and being able to bring my experience and perspective of the industry after 24 years has been a lot of fun and welcomed. JMT feels like home, something I have been missing for the past few years.
