As part of our effort to expand our offerings for federal customers, JMT has entered into a Small Business Administration (SBA)-approved Mentor Protégé arrangement with Straughan Environmental, Inc. of Columbia, MD. Straughan is a certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) with the federal government. Our partnership, which will do business as “Sym Partners A Straughan-JMT Joint Venture,” multiplies the experience of our two firms in environmental compliance and NEPA, civil and water resources engineering, GIS and technology, sustainability and resiliency planning, architecture and buildings systems, and construction management and inspections. This arrangement strengthens the 20+ year partnership between JMT and Straughan and advances the goal of both firms to grow in the federal market space. JMT’s role in this partnership is to mentor Straughan on internal business management systems, accounting, marketing, and strategic planning. This arrangement is also beneficial to JMT because we can now compete for certain small business set-aside contracts.
